Pen Pal

May 20, 2011

So, I’ve got this pen pal, it’s pretty serious. I mail her all the time and I like to think I am pretty good at it. I get it from my mother who once mailed me 8 lbs of home made cookies when I lived in New York. My current pen pal has forced me to raise the bar, my old tricks have been outdone and I must elevate my craft. Here is a glimpse of a finished product with some of my tools.

Yes, it’s a home made frame with Bill Murray as the temporary picture

Strong Brother

My brother lifting some weights in Toon Town, Disneyland. He’s leaving for Vietnam next week and will be traveling South East Asia for the next two months. I will probably miss him.

Wolfpack Hustle The LA Marathon Crash Race II

May 6, 2011

At 4am, before the LA Marathon run, a group of 400+ cyclists met up to ride the course while it was closed off to cars. More info and a video can be found here. Justin and I really enjoyed the 26+ mile ride on empty Los Angeles streets, the ride back to the car in rain, wind and poor navigation (sorry) wasn’t as much fun. Here we are at the end of our ride.

Brad’s Backyard

May 4, 2011

My friend Brad Coleman of the band “Indian Burn” gave me a tour of his house and backyard.

Kyle’s House

May 2, 2011

I would have to say a lot of my friends are cooler than me, who do you think inspires me all the time? It’s the people I am around. One of my favorites is the fantastic Kyle Robbins of Ciiair. This is where he resides, plays and works hard. This man does not stop. Somehow he always finds the best places around on craigslist, he says you have to get past all the “free dirt” posts to find the gems.

Saddleback Mountain Revisited

April 29, 2011

I have hiked Saddleback Mountain (santiago peak) several times. The last time was almost two years ago, so I was overdue. Sometimes you just need to climb a mountain. Although I just wanted to go hiking, I almost always have a camera handy, so here are a couple snapshots. The mist on the mountain made for some interesting results.

I had Rob take this photo of me, thanks Rob.

All I wanna do is ride my bicycle

April 27, 2011

Sorry fans and friends, I have been a lazy and distracted blogger. O yes, I am still taking photos and have much to blog, I have just been too busy working, riding my bicycle, and chasing women. I am officially addicted to cycling and all that is bicycle culture. After a few successful events where I performed better than anticipated, I can’t seem to stop riding and obsessing. However, I need to balance my life out again. Here is an animated gif of dinner to hold you over until the next post.

First Double Century

March 8, 2011

I recently rode and  completed my first “double century” (200 miles) on my bicycle. Here is a link to the event with my results, I am very proud of this. Cycling has become a huge part of my life lately and there is so much to say about it. All I really wanted to share however, is how it has helped me set goals and achieve them. It’s easy to say I want to accomplish this, but to work at it on an almost daily basis, to achieve that goal, is another story. This takes commitment and desire. This is where I struggle as a freelance artist, all the busy work doesn’t excite me, I just want the jobs. Each bicycle journey is exciting, some of it is just training, but all of it is necessary to achieve my goals. So I try and take what I learn from my cycling endeavors and apply it to my business practices. I have many more cycling goals and a long way to go as a photographer.
