The need for speed. I have a love for driving fast, specifically, fast acceleration or drag racing. I used to own a pretty fast car, but now it belongs to my father due to negligence. I one day hope to have another vehicle to catapult myself towards a horizon. My father has recently taken interest in fixing my mess for himself and I want my own again. Being on a tight budget and limited space, a motorcycle comes to mind. My friend Brandon Montoya has some toys of his own he tinkers with and mind’s eye starts wandering. It will be some time before I get started, so here are some photos of Brandon and his toys.

Gantez Warrior

I recently went out to see my friends from “Indian Burn” play. Since I had a roll of high speed black and white in my camera (which I desperately wanted done) I decided to take some photos. The opening band “Gantez Warrior” put on a good show as well as my friends however the lights were only on for their set. All of these shots are of “Gantez Warrior.”

After a night out in Long Beach, my fellow friends and I returned home to take part in some target practice. Which continued until 4am. No shirts were allowed.

Haven’t made one of these in a while. I recently moved and signed a year lease, to me that means enough time to do some serious decorating. I painted my walls and it took about three days. Here is the time-lapse of it in action.

Escape to Salvation Mountain

Sometimes you need a break from the work week, really, I prefer little work in my break week but I am still figuring out how to do that. Along with an escapee, Tashena Burroughs, we made a pilgrimage to Salvation Mountain for a night of camping in Slab City. Then, after evading border patrol officers, we made it back to San Diego for a dip at Wind an Sea. These photos are from my Yashica TLR with really old Fuji Astia cross processed. A little much, but I think they turned out ok.

In the world of photography, I was not blessed with the skills to naturally acquire the images necessary in the action/sports realm, good thing I have no interest in that. Occasionally, I will try my hand at photographing friends doing their thing. I do not skate, I do not follow skate magazines, I surf but I no longer follow any magazines of that nature either. Here is what I found most interesting of the few shots taken at the Oceanside skate park. I really like the way the light falls off and shapes the cement park, I also like that these images lack the climax of most sports images and leaves you to fill in the blank. Agree or disagree but thanks for looking.
