Rosarito to Ensenada bike ride

I recently had the privilege of doing the famous Rosarito Ensenada 50 mile fun bicycle ride. Kyle Robbins of Ciiair/Gin sponsored me and joined the ride as well. We had some great fish tacos, mucho cervesa and had so much fun on our bikes riding with the locals and gringos. Kyle on his swap meet special bike and photos taken with a camera purchased the same day for 8 dollars.

Sorry fans and friends, I have been a lazy and distracted blogger. O yes, I am still taking photos and have much to blog, I have just been too busy working, riding my bicycle, and chasing women. I am officially addicted to cycling and all that is bicycle culture. After a few successful events where I performed better than anticipated, I can’t seem to stop riding and obsessing. However, I need to balance my life out again. Here is an animated gif of dinner to hold you over until the next post.

Justin Ostrout

Here are a couple photos of my friend Justin Ostrout and his bike. We often go for long rides all over LA and Orange County, hopefully cover most of LA by the end of the year. On this day we rode a 50 mile loop of the LA River and San Gabriel River, start and finish in Long Beach. We both ride old steel bikes.

LA Gun Club

Gun laws in the UK are very strict and few people get the chance to fire one off in the country. When I first found out Saul was coming I asked if he had any interest in shooting a gun. I think that was the second reason why he came to visit California, the first being a wedding. Usually I go out to the desert with my dad and brother, but due to certain circumstances and last minute planning, we had to opt for the Los Angeles Gun Club. I have been shooting guns since I was a little boy and have never been to a shooting range, so this was a new experience for me too. Here are some photos of our experience.

They are there, lots of them. Some are many days and some are quick. All of them make me feel alive. I love adventures and there are many more to come. Some are planned and some are spontaneous. I’m ready for some new adventures.

Boston

When I went back east, I also went to Boston. I haven’t been there since I was 12 and it was just as I remembered. Lots of bricks. I liked it.

These photos were taken with my broken and now sold Rollei 35s. That camera is great but guessing distances (to focus it) is difficult for me. These shots were exposed using the in camera meter, and I am quite please with the results that the Ilford HP5 400 film yielded. I am often captivated by light, specifically the shapes it helps define and the shadows created. It is all geometry and composition to me with a little flare. Dig it.
