Since the item I wanted for christmas was discontinued, my girlfriend had to find an alternative gift. So, she thought of an adventure for me, which I like better than adding stuff to my collection of stuff I don’t need. She knows how much I like public transportation (since I do not own a car), and she knows I have wanted to go to the Getty Museum. On the day my girlfriend planned for me, we took the public transportation from our homes to the Getty.

This in detail included walking to catch the 82 to the Laguna Niguel Metrolink Station, to catch the Metrolink to Union Station LA, to catch the red line to Sunset and Vermont, the 2 to UCLA, the 761 to the Getty, and the same then more buses to the Beverly Center, and we were then lucky enough to get a ride home, plus a nice dinner. Public transportation can be maddening, getting lost and waiting can be frustrating, but I had fun on my adventure, and my girlfriend figured it all out. My favorite part? Taking pictures of my lovely lady and at the amazing Getty (which I liked better than the art on the inside). Here are my favorite photos.

This is Union Station Los Angeles. I forgot to mention everything from here on was new for me.

The Getty has many magnificent gardens and the architecture is amazing.

She might be going to UCLA in the fall, which appears somewhere in the background.

Jessie was such a good sport at letting me take photos of her. Here the sun bouncing off the limestone was so intense she almost cried.

This reminds me of the movie Big Fish.

All of these photos look really good in black and white too, I didn’t bother converting them because I did shoot black and white as well, I just have to develop the rolls. All the above shots were taken with my Rollei 35 s. I got the film developed at Digital Photo Graphix in Rancho Santa Margarita (it was my first time there and they were great).
