Lily

March 31, 2009

This is my family’s Dachshund. Her name is Lily and I think she is beautiful. Recently she had surgery on her eye and now has to wear a cone around her neck for two weeks. At first I was very amused by this, but now I feel bad for her. Here are some photos I took of her around the house. I shot these with my Pentax lenses on my Canon 5D.

All my color film from my trip has been developed and scanned and my black and white is developed and is in the process of being scanned. I hope to blog it for you soon. In the mean time check out Brian’s photos of the trip here.

New Addition to my Arsenal

February 24, 2009

In an older post I talked about wanting a new camera. Well, I did not get a Leica or a Rolleiflex, but I did get an old film camera. Here it is, my Pentax Spotmatic with a 50mm f/1.4 and a 135mm f/3.5.

I will be testing this bad boy out with some film tomorrow with friend Terry. One of the other reasons I got this camera was because the lenses can easily be adapted to fit my Canon digital body. I have already played around with that and am very happy with it. Some of these older lenses are sharper than newer ones for a fraction of the cost. Of course there are some drawbacks like manual focus and aperture adjustments, but I like that stuff. Once I get some decent shots with these lenses I will put up the photos.
