Growing

July 31, 2010

This blog has been pretty weak lately, I apologize, really, it seems it is because I have not been doing anything interesting lately, or at least worth photographing. THE PORTABLE PHOTOBOOTH has kept me pretty busy, which is fantastic but I have not been shooting much for myself. In attempts to finish a seeming never ending roll, I took pictures of my garden in progress.  I am growing pumpkin, cantaloupe, carrots, cilantro, oregano, sweet potato, green onion, and I am attempting to start several avocado trees. My garden has been a great part of my daily routine and it is wonderful to see progress in something daily. I think I am growing too.

Traveling me: London

March 24, 2010

I was gone in London a week ago and haven’t had much internet. Sorry if you have been constantly looking and find nothing. Here is a photo of me in London. I have a bunch more photos to prep and blog but enjoy this for now.

Out of focus is ok

February 10, 2010

Sometimes things look better out of focus, or at least worth the risk.

A tree in Joshua Tree

I really like trees. Their symbol means lots of things to me, but mostly they represent strength. I specifically like trees that stand alone or stand out from the rest.

Local Natives

September 6, 2009

I recently did a photo shoot with the band Local Natives. I had some serious technical difficulties, my digital camera was very tired from a wedding days before. I brought several film cameras to play with, but when my digital didn’t want to cooperate, I was forced to use my back ups. I recently purchased a Mamiya RB67 for a great deal on craigslist, so untested and with film who knows how old, this became my key camera. Here are my favorite shots.

I think this one is the most like them.

It was nice to do a shoot all in film, I have not done this since college. It forced me to think a lot more using an entirely mechanical camera. You think about every shot before you take it, with a 6×7 format you only get 10 shots per roll of film. I sure love film. I plan on using this camera more in the future with more success.
